August 10, 2018: there is plenty of winer sun, however! By the third week of August the camellia flowers are opening, after showing tantalising buds for some time.

August 17: The hellebores have been flowering for some time now, and the camellias are coming out.

July 18-27. Often misty, with leafless trees and fallen leaves. The currawongs are here, as are the rosellas, which like to drink from the bird bath outside the living room window. A good season for birdwatching.
