The two Montacute dogs are called Phidias and Praxiteles. This is Phidias, looking onto the Parterre à l’Angloise. The avenue leads to the apple trellis and the big monkey puzzle tree. This was taken just as the weather was clouding over for the Great Deluge of 2017. Fortunately it was not too fierce: 30 mm over several days.
